Vermont Health Information Exchange (VHIE) and Vermont Information Technology Leaders (VITL) Overview

Starting July 1st, 2024, clients who don't want their health information shared with other healthcare providers upon full VHIE/VITL implementation will need to complete a specific “Opt-Out” process (except for Substance Use Program (SUP) and DUI program clients who will need to opt-in if they do want their information shared). Providers will be responsible to have a conversation with clients to help them understand and navigate through this process should they choose to, as outlined below. All clients with mailing addresses on file will receive this update by mail as well.
