ANSA/CANS Workflow
The CANS (Child & Adolescent Needs & Strengths tool) and ANSA (Adult Needs & Strengths Assessment) services are now qualifying services, which means they count towards HCRS’ monthly case rate requirements.
The ANSA/CANS service will count towards HCRS’ case rate requirement as long as:
How to Account for the CANS/ANSA in Credible (based on when it’s performed) | ||
Completed at Assessment or Re-Assessment | Stand Alone Service | Part of a Service Other Than an Assessment or Re-Assessment |
The CANS/ANSA should be done as part of the assessment/re-assessment service; the CANS/ANSA should not stand alone.
Simply note the amount of time you worked on the CANS/ANSA (interview and review).
You do not need to deduct the amount of time spent on the CANS/ANSA from the assessment.
| When you do the CANS/ANSA interview and/or review with a client/family and no other service(s) are provided, simply document the time using the appropriate CANS or ANSA service.
| When you complete the CANS/ANSA interview and/or review within another scheduled service, you will need to complete the appropriate CANS or ANSA service for the amount of time you spent completing that service.
You will also need to complete the associated documentation for the remainder of that service. However, you do not need to deduct the CANS/ANSA time from the other service.
